About the house
Group Holiday Accommodation Sleeping up to 19. Highfield was built in c1867, just five years after Riber Castle was built by John Smedley, and looks over the historic town of Matlock once world-famous for its Spas.
Polite Notice
Please note this is NOT a party house, it’s a peaceful Peak District retreat for families to enjoy and we do have neighbours that also wish to enjoy this peaceful neighbourhood.
Whilst the property is very private, we politely ask that all guests remain respectful of the neighbours/neighbouring properties and keep noise levels to a reasonable and responsible level, especially late in the evening when enjoying the outside views.
Please enter the driveway slowly and with caution at all times, there are signs around the property reminding guests of these noise restrictions.
Highfield is a perfect base
The House is fully centrally heated with two log fires and provides the perfect base for exploring the delights of the Peak District all year round and is decorated for the holiday festive seasons.
